Fire Alarm
Installation
We design and install commercial fire alarm systems to British Standards, working with both addressable and conventional systems depending on the size and complexity of your premises. Every installation is carried out with full attention to BS 5839-1 compliance.
We supply and fit all required hardware — control panels, detectors, manual call points, sounders, beacons and all associated cabling. Whether you're fitting out a new building or upgrading an existing system, we manage the job from survey through to handover.
- ✓ Addressable & conventional systems
- ✓ Full supply and fit — panels, detectors, sounders, cabling
- ✓ New builds and system upgrades
- ✓ Compliant with BS 5839-1
- ✓ Zone plan documentation included
Planned Preventative
Maintenance
Regular maintenance is not optional — it's a legal requirement under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. We offer scheduled PPM visits to keep your system fully operational and your premises compliant.
Our visits include full device testing, fault finding, inspection of the control panel, and a written service report on completion. We can tailor visit frequency to your requirements and the demands of your site.
- ✓ Scheduled service visits — quarterly, biannual or annual
- ✓ Full device and panel testing
- ✓ Written service report after every visit
- ✓ Fault identification and rectification
- ✓ Supports your legal compliance obligations
Emergency Repair
& 24/7 Callout
When a fire alarm system develops a fault, it needs to be resolved quickly. A system in fault condition compromises your fire safety and may trigger false alarms that disrupt your business. We offer rapid response emergency attendance for our customers, including 24/7 out-of-hours callout.
This is something we take seriously. We understand that faults don't only happen between 9 and 5, and we're flexible enough to attend when it matters. Whether it's a panel fault, a wiring issue, a failed device or a damaged detector — we'll diagnose and fix it.
- ✓ 24/7 emergency callout for contract customers
- ✓ Rapid response to minimise downtime
- ✓ Panel faults, device failures, wiring issues
- ✓ False alarm investigation and resolution
- ✓ Flexible — we work around your operations
System
Commissioning
Commissioning is the process of verifying that a newly installed or significantly modified fire alarm system is functioning correctly before handover. This is a critical stage that must be carried out by a competent engineer and properly documented.
We commission systems we install ourselves and can also commission systems installed by others where required. All commissioning is carried out in line with BS 5839-1 and full documentation is provided on completion, including zone plans where applicable.
- ✓ Full system verification and testing
- ✓ New installations and system extensions
- ✓ Third-party commissioning available
- ✓ Full documentation and handover pack
Battery
Replacement
Fire alarm systems rely on batteries to maintain operation during a mains power failure. Over time these degrade and must be replaced to ensure continued compliance. We carry out battery replacements on control panels, remote power supplies and wireless devices.
Battery replacement is often flagged during routine maintenance visits, or can be arranged as a standalone job. We supply and fit the correct replacement batteries for your specific equipment.
- ✓ Control panel and standby batteries
- ✓ Remote power supply batteries
- ✓ Wireless device batteries
- ✓ Supply and fit included
Voice Evacuation
& Public Address
We have experience installing and maintaining voice evacuation (EVAC) and public address (PA) systems, which are often integrated with or alongside fire alarm systems in larger premises such as offices, schools and commercial buildings.
While this is a smaller part of our work these days — fire alarms are our primary focus — we can advise on requirements and carry out work where needed. Get in touch to discuss your specific requirements.
Fire Alarm
Zone Plans
Zone plans are a key part of any fire alarm handover. They show the layout of the building with the alarm zones clearly marked, allowing the fire service and building occupants to quickly identify the source of an alarm. We produce these as standard on our installation jobs.
We create zone plans using Easy Zone Plans — specialist software we've developed specifically for the fire alarm industry. The result is a clean, consistent, professional document every time.
